Nursery

This age is an amazing time of growth and development. All activities are prepared with the understanding that our two-year-old children are developing their attention skills and are very active. The quality and design of the learning materials incorporate the latest trends in early childhood education and brain development.

We create a positive climate for our children to safely explore the classroom and take risks. Intellectually stimulating activities are implemented to help children build on concepts in fun and creative ways. Appropriate language modeling and feedback are used as tools to guide and enhance children’s language development. Children make self-directed, carefully guided choices, participate in small and large groups, and develop the confidence to explore new things.

Our nursery program encompasses many music and movement enrichment programs that are designed to help our children feel included, happy, and empowered. They are free to express themselves in creative ways. When children are excited and happy, they are ready to learn!

Our two year olds display cooperation and higher concentration skills as a direct result of the positive interactions and responsive environment which we provide. Every day, the teacher makes the children feel welcomed and important. These feelings of inclusion are necessary for successful learning and cooperation.

Children are now ready to explore all the centers of the classroom: math center, building center, manipulative center, everyday living skill center, discovery center and a cozy library center. The development of language, math, and science is emphasized through whole-group work and encouraged during center time. Thematic units are developed to encourage children to investigate new skills and ideas. The nursery environment has been carefully prepared for our children by our caring and thoughtful experts at Shantivan Kiddie Convent. As a result, children are prepared for a lifetime of learning.
